ClickBank affiliate marketing is a good place to start for several reasons. It is assumed when someone is beginning to work on developing an Internet home business that they don’t have a lot of money. ClickBank is free. While there are many other affiliate programs that are free, most limit how much you can earn or utilize in the program as a free member. Not so with ClickBank affiliate marketing.

It is also assumed that the home business newbie has not developed a product or a website. ClickBank has associated companies that have the products and they usually provide a web page that affiliates can advertise to earn commissions. As an aside, if a person eventually does develop their own product, they can also promote it through ClickBank.

While many other affiliate programs provide some similar benefits, there are more reasons that ClickBank affiliate marketing is still easier than most. First of all, they promote tangible products, while many affiliate programs seem to be mostly about ‘business opportunities’. Far more people would be interested in buying products than those interested in opportunities. This makes sales easier to generate.

Secondly, ClickBank has one of the best compensation plans available. 75% commissions are common.  For example if the product sells for $100, the commission is $75. That is really astounding when you think about it.  It stands out above the rest as something that is more than fair.

However, this is a one-time-only commission and not residual income. Many other types of affiliate programs would pay monthly for the life of the membership in the business opportunity. This is referred to as residual income.

To explain this, consider that if you generate a sale for someone to join a program and their monthly membership fees are for example $25, you could possibly receive $10 a month on average. It would take 8 months to earn $80.

Although it may sound more like you are building something more permanent than one-time-only sales, the truth is that many people quit within a month or two of joining a business opportunity affiliate program; so there is a risk that you can only expect to receive this income one or two times anyway.

So again, ClickBank affiliate marketing gives you substantial commissions right off the bat, and as they say ‘a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush’.
