Those who limit their menu will also limit their target market. If you plan to specialize your business toward specific events, such as weddings, be sure that your menu offers a variety of options for the new brides and grooms to choose from.

Employees:  When you start a home based catering business, you are going to need employees to help you. This can cause its own set of difficulties. After all, good reliable help can be difficult to come by. However, before you hire anyone, make certain a background check is conducted. You may also want to hire a payroll business to help you with your employee payroll, as it can free up a lot of your time, especially if you are not experienced in these matters. It may be an expense, but in the end, having someone else take care of this task for you will allow you the time you need to work on further developing your products.
